Deciphering the Oncogenic Signaling Pathway Linking Brain and Liver Cancers
The presentation traces our research on oxygen sensing and protein-stability regulation in cancer, beginning with studies in glioblastoma (GBM), where both ID2 and LZTR1 were first identified in patient-derived tumors. Building on our work on the DYRK1–ID2–VHL–HIF axis, we recently found that KCTD17-mediated destabilization of LZTR1 activates Ras signaling and drives progression and therapeutic resistance in hepatocellular carcinoma. Ongoing studies further investigate the tumor-suppressive role and regulatory mechanisms of LZTR1 in GBM.
